The Foreign Minister of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Hoshyar Zebari, received Mr. François Girault, Ambassador of France to Iraq on June 4, 2007. The Foreign Minister discussed issues including internal conditions in Iraq. He also discussed the French elections and expressed his trust that the new French government will be constructive to Iraq. Ambassador Girault in return reaffirmed his government’s attitude to supporting political process in Iraq, and expressed his country’s desire to develop bilateral relations with Iraq.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Hoshyar Zebari, condemns the terrorist attack on the Al-Askari Holy Shrine. This criminal act was aimed to disrupt the progress of rebuilding Iraq.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Hoshyar Zebari gave a speech to the United Nations Security Council on the mandate of the Multi-National Forces in Iraq on June 13, 2007. His Excellency pointed out the progress of events in Iraq. Iraq’s PR Dr. Hamid Al-Bayati attended the meeting also.
